The lyrics for this hymn are adapted from the Isaac Watts words for "I Sing the Mighty Power of God." But instead of "might" and "power," this song emphasizes beauty and gentleness. The closing lines, "Wherever humankind may be, the Lord is present there," seem particularly healing in these times of destruction and loss. Wherever humanity is present, so also, is the voice of God.

And, this is a hymn of energy. There are many "Amen"s. Accented. Staccato. Loudly. Joyously. For -- the flowing seas, the sun and stars, plants and flowers, and all that live praise the beauty of the Lord. Amen!
