Three Songs for Tres Voces were composed in 1983 for the "Tres Voces" Ensemble of Hartford, CT. The scoring is for the versatile resources of the performers: Countertenor (who doubles as a second Baritone voice and also as a Guitarist), Tenor, Baritone.

The three songs are:

1. "To an Isle in the Water" (poem by W. B. Yeats)
2. "When You Are Old" (based on the poem "The Song of Wandering Aengus" by W. B. Yeats)
3. "When You Are Old" (poem by George MacKay Brown)

The third song has been transcribed for SSA Chorus and Piano, and appears as The Silver Apples of the Moon [ECS #4313].
